Scheduled Time: 2nd Saturday at 9 am
Instructor: Jim Ike/Walt Stoyanoski
Over the years many of us have collected many hard copy books and
references for our genealogical research. As this collection grows the free storage space we have shrinks and/or it becomes impossible for us to take our libraries and/or collections on the road to follow the path of ancestors as their lives cross this country and the world. E-books are a way to free up space and allow your libraries and references to be portable. On Saturday, November 12, Jim Ike will present “E-books for the Genealogist”.
We hope you will come and bring a friend. The meeting will be at the CCOKC Resource Center located at 3000 United Founders Blvd, Suite 201, OKC, OK. The regular meeting starts at 9:00 AM and runs to 11:00 AM with a break about 10:00 AM. Following the regular Genealogy Study Group meeting, people who use or are interested in learning more about “The Master Genealogist” or “Legacy” genealogy database programs are welcome to stay another hour for user group meetings of these programs. The Genealogy Study Group is dedicated to helping family history researchers use computers to assist in the search, organization and publication of information about their family history. We try to schedule a variety of program subjects so everyone can find something of interest to them. Your suggestions for future program ideas and volunteers to make presentations are always welcome. Please feel free to contact Jim Ike ( email@example.com ) or Walt Stoyanoski (firstname.lastname@example.org ) with questions about the group or topics. The website at: www.rootsweb.com/~okggccoc/ tells more about our group, has information on our programs, handouts from past programs, links to genealogical and computer websites and our surname and location research lists from our membership.
The meeting also provides an opportunity to discuss common interests with other members.
Study Groups meet as set out in the Study Group Schedule. There is no additional charge for being in a study group, and visitors are welcome to attend without charge
