Real Computer Help in Plain English - Really!!

     by Doris Collins  September 2006

Have you ever found yourself wanting to pull out your hair or, better yet, throw your computer down a flight of stairs? Have you ever been so completely frustrated over a computer problem that you think there's no solution other than an expensive trip to the repair shop? WRONG! Did you know that competent help is as close as your computer (if it still works), or your telephone? Did you know that this help is in plain English, not "computerese"? Did you know this help is free?

The Computer Club of Oklahoma City is anxiously looking forward to their September 21st meeting wherein Jen Clausen will have a presentation on behalf of Sandhills Publishing.

The presentation, aiming to educate attendees about Sandhills Publishing’s magazines and the Smart Computing User Group Program, will step members through an issue of Smart Computing, convey the value of SmartComputing.com through a live demonstration, and introduce attendees to Smart Computing’s sister publications - PC Today, Computer Power User, and the Reference Series. Each attendee will receive a packet of Smart Computing goodies and be eligible to win other Smart Computing merchandise. We invite anyone interested in expanding their computer knowledge to attend the Computer Club of Oklahoma City meeting.

In addition to the goodie bags and door prizes to be distributed by Sandhills Publications, the Computer Club of Oklahoma City has two door prizes to give to its members, and two for visitors. For the members this month we have an internal PCI TV Tuner with Wireless Remote, which allows you to watch TV on your computer, and a copy of interVideo's iVideoToGo - take movies to go with your iPod. For one of our visitors, we will be offering a one-year free membership to the Computer Club of Oklahoma City, and to another visitor will go a package of blank CD-RW's in jewel cases.

The General Meeting of the Computer Club of Oklahoma City is on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. The meeting is held at 3000 United Founders Blvd. Suite 201, Oklahoma City, OK. (This address is NOT in the United Founders Tower.) Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

Join us at 7:00 pm on September 21st.
