Benefits of Membership
in the Computer Club of Oklahoma City
The benefits of a membership in the
CCOKC are lengthy. The benefits add up to a real bargain when
compared to the modest membership fee.
(Print and
mail CCOKC Application Form.) These benefits include the
following:
Networking with Members
The members of the
CCOKC
consist of many different professions, ages, backgrounds, and levels of
experience. The CCOKC prides itself on the principle of "members
helping members." Many participants in the Users Group say that their
primary reason for being a member of the club is for the purpose of making
personal contacts with other computer users.
Monthly Meetings
The general membership meets monthly on
the third Thursday of the month in Resource Center of the Computer Club of
OKC. The address is
in room 201 of the Centre 3000 building, located at 3000 United Founders
Blvd. Come in the East door and take the elevator on your right to the 2nd
floor. There will be ample parking.
All members and visitors are invited to meet and participate in an
informative presentation about personal computers. The presentations are
usually made by representatives of the major vendors within the industry.
The meeting also provides an opportunity to discuss common interests with
other members and to make computer related purchases.
Study Groups
Study Groups also meet monthly
to discuss a variety of subjects. They cover such topics as programming
languages, telecommunications, beginning user needs, and popular software
programs. Dates of individual Study Groups and times they meet are listed in this
web site under the calendar.
Resource Center
The Computer Club
of OKC has a Resource
Center at 3000 United Founders Blvd., Suite 201, Oklahoma City, 73112-4379.
Door Prizes
Door prizes are given at the end of every
general session meeting. Visitors have the opportunity to win a box of
diskettes or a free membership to the Users Group. However, the best prizes
are donated by computer vendors and are restricted to members only. This is
a good reason in itself to join the Users Group.
