Technology for the Digital Home Experience

        by Troy Segler, Vice President

You are invited to attend the October 20th, 2005 Computer Club of Oklahoma City general meeting. We will be getting under way at 7:00 PM in suite 201 of the 3000 Centre Building. Enter through the east entrance. A map is located on this website.

Intel has provided us a “program in a box” that illustrates their vision of the Digital Home experience. We will review their PowerPoint presentation and look at some Web sites that offer the tools necessary for setting up your own home theater. You will probably want a high-performance computer for networking to the entertainment media used to set up your center. A wireless system is anticipated in order to affect the vast variety of equipment that will be coming into your entertainment world. Of course, a high-speed Internet connection is most desirable. Many products have been introduced for implementing the ultimate in digital entertainment.

If you already have a home entertainment center on stream and would like to tell the group what you are doing, your information will be welcomed. If you are thinking about setting up a system, we would like to hear what you are considering.

I expect this to be an interactive meeting with participation from anyone who is willing to educate/inform the group of successes and failures in getting a system on line. I will probably close the meeting by going to a Web site that is the ultimate in design and comfort. I am reminded of the Taj Mahal when looking at some of the appurtenances they depict.

We are looking forward to having you at this meeting.

Coffee and refreshments will be available for the taking and soft drinks are

available at a cost of $.50.  Invite a friend to join you for this meeting.  I wish to thank all those who have regularly attended these meetings.
