General Meeting Review of October 20, 2005

by Liz Wright

Intel Corporation provided some materials for our evening presentation on October 20, 2005.  Troy Segler showed us the Intel PowerPoint presentation, which featured the latest in home computer networking options. Basically, the newest technology brings home-entertainment theaters to the top of many a wish list. Troy then reviewed some Websites that covered the equipment needed for such enterprises and provided us with a printout of the sites.

One of interest showed an individual who had the expertise and, needless to say the money, to build an elaborate system in his home. It is quite reminiscent of the elaborate movie theaters of the 1920's, 30's and 40's. Some of us remember them and miss the ambience they offered to the beautiful movies of those times. You can visit the project at http://theater.stevejenkins.com/gallery.

For more technical information about digital equipment for this type of networking, visit the Intel Website at www.intel.com.
