From the President's Corner
Happy New Year - January 2004
by Wm. James, President, OKCPCUG
This past year our club has experienced a great deal of change. This past December our eMonitor was one year old. It continues to feature the same great articles from our loyal contingent of writers. Since our newsletter is electronic and mirrored on our website, it has given our writers a great deal of exposure. We receive frequent requests from other user groups wanting to use their articles.
This year also brought about a change in our venue for General Sessions. The move to the Resource Center really provides a more intimate setting for these informative sessions. Our VP of Programs Troy Segler has provided us with some really great programs. If you are not attending our Thursday night General Session, make plans for this New Year to do so.
We offered our members an opportunity to voice their opinions in a survey. Some of you responded and offered suggestions and opinions on how we could improve our club. We still have challenges ahead: increase our member base, more participation in our monthly SIGs, and we always have a need for volunteers. The number of SIGs the club offers is steadily declining, due to lack of participation. If you have ideas or would like to be a SIG leader, please contact our VP of SIGs, Isaac Franklin (ifrank9999@cox.net).
Our board will be having its planning session January 10. During this session we will be discussing our plans for the New Year. If you have ideas or programs you would like the club to pursue, please contact a board member or e-mail me direct at james@qns.com. Any input will be appreciated. On behalf of the board, we wish you a very prosperous New Year.
